An Update on Lumber Prices
🍂 Fall Sale! 🍂
(Excludes add-ons and upgrades.)
You may have heard the news this year that lumber prices have spiked to the highest point in recent memory. (Graph credit of Fortune)
What higher lumber prices mean for us
Obviously, lumber prices are a big deal for us, since our sheds are made primarily from wood products! 😄
In particular, we’ve been affected in the following ways:
- High lumber prices make it more challenging for us to run a profitable business. This is simply a reality of business! Rising input costs put tremendous pressure on the bottom line in any business.
- Volatility in lumber prices makes it more challenging for us to plan for the future.
With lumber prices changing almost daily, it’s hard to make business forecasts for the next month, let alone next year. - Lumber shortages make it more challenging for us to order materials far in advance.
Thankfully, a lack of materials hasn’t caused any construction delays for us yet. However, we’re not able to stock materials for future projects as far in advance as we did in the past.
That’s not to complain, though! We’ve been very blessed with great customers who buy our sheds in Georgia. And we’re doing everything we can to continue building and selling those sheds at competitive rates! This brings us to the next item…
What higher lumber prices mean for you
If you’re considering a shed purchase, there are a few things you should know:
- We promise to keep our prices as fair and competitive as possible.
That means we’re not using the lumber crisis as an excuse to price gouge folks who need a shed. We’re adjusting our prices to partially compensate for the rising materials costs, but this is not an opportunity for us to turn an extra profit. - We promise to operate with integrity.
If we quote you a price for a custom shed, we will honor that price for up to 10 days, even though lumber prices are changing almost daily. (If you design a building using our 3D shed builder, please contact us for the most up-to-date pricing.) Stock sheds in our inventory can be purchased immediately at the prices listed. - We promise to communicate openly.
Now more than ever, we’re committed to staying in touch with you throughout the purchasing process. If you have any questions about how lumber prices will affect the cost of your shed specifically, feel free to give us a call at 478-595-6513 or email us at sales@durastorstructures.com. We are more than happy to answer your questions and advise you on options.
Thanks for your patience and understanding as we all navigate these unusual times! We look forward to serving you!
